Wood is beautiful. Wood rings are lighter than conventional rings, environmentally friendly, unique, and original. If you are looking for a conversation starter, wood is the way to go!
Bentwood rings are made by steam bending thin layers of wood until multiple layers are achieved. This technique makes the rings very durable and strong by eliminating breaking points along the grain of the wood. After wrapping and shaping the ring, a highly durable Cyanoacrylate finish is applied before going through a lengthy sanding and polishing process until a very high gloss finish is obtained.
All my products are handmade by me. From bending the wood, cutting Damascus steel to packaging. I have spent uncountable hours studying, experimenting, and practicing different techniques to make sure I deliver the highest quality, water-resistant and durable products for my customers.
I carry a wide selection of domestic and exotic woods: Walnut, Padauk, Maple, Ebony, Pine, Purpleheart and so much more. I also use different kinds of metals for those who prefer a metal liner, like titanium, stainless steel, sterling silver, or even Damascus steel. When it comes to inlays, your imagination is the limit. I can use semi-precious stones like turquoise, malachite, tektite meteorite, or even crystalized dinosaur bone. If guitar strings or coffee is your thing, I’ve got you covered.

Shawn Beatty
I am the founder of Oddwood Design. I am from New-Brunswick, Canada. My absolute passions are undoubtedly playing guitar, listening to music, and making things with my hands. I made my first ring while living in Portugal using an old piece of flooring with the idea of proposing to my beautiful (now) wife. Using nothing but a knife, sandpaper, a tiny chisel, and tons of elbow grease, I made the engagement ring. After finding the bentwood method, I instantly fell in love with the process. Since then, I have been creating some truly unique custom designs for customers from Canada all the way to Australia. I pride myself on my work. My passionate and perfectionist personality makes sure no piece leaves my workshop without the highest quality standards.
